The Cost Of Smoking Vs The Cost Of Personal Training

So its the New Year and everybody wants to get fit and heatlhy, to replace bad habits with good habits and loosing a bit of weight wouldnt hurt either.High up on the list of health based resolutions guessed it, giving up smoking.

Some people may be weighing up the cost of hiring a personal trainer for the new year, but the general concensus is that personal trainers cost a fortune and how can i possibly afford this etc. Well im going to make the decision a little easier for you. You smokers better take a seat, I've done the math and the results are going to give you a shock!

Based on a person who smokes 20 cigerettes per day at a cost of €10 per pack will cost the individual €3650 per annum! (10x365 = 3650.00)

Lets say the average price for a Personal Trainer is €40 per hour. Generally I train my clients once per week having them work on their own program, which I have provided, on the other 3-4 days. So hiring a trainer once per week at €40 per hour will cost the individual €2080.00 per annum. (40x52 = 2080.00)

That leaves you with €1570.00 to play around with (3650.00-2080.00 = 1570.00). Well your going to need a 12 month Gym membership so deduct maybe €400 from that. Then you need some workout gym gear - runners, t-shirts, shorts etc so deduct a further €200.

Your still left with €970.00, just enough to treat yourself to a lovely sun holiday in the autumn to showcase that new healthy, toned body of yours on the beach.

There you have it folks, its plain to see that personal training is not so expensive when comapred to smoking. Remember I have only highlighted smoking here, throw in a booze up every weekend and your climbing towards €6000.00 plus! Im not saying you can't have fun but you need to be aware of exactly how much you really are spending per year and at the end of the day it all depends on what you are willing to prioritze in order to achieve your goals. So what are you waiting for?!
