The Skinny On Fat

There are bad fats (i.e saturated fats) and good fats (Monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats). Your body needs some of each to work properly but more of the good and less of the the bad is a wise approach.

Increased bad fats in your diet can lead eventually to heart disease and blockages in the heart and arteries aswell as being high in calories. Whilst good fats help maintain a healthy heart and vascular system and help carry essential nutrients around the body. Try cutting bad fat gradually out of your diet by going for skimmed milk instead of full fat, use low fat cheese & yogurts, try boiling, or grilling instead of frying, eat more lean protein such as chicken, turkey, tuna & 90-95% lean steak mince meat.
Increase your good fat intake by eating more fresh fish, mixed natural nuts, avocados, olives and supplementing with cod liver/fish oils which provide 3,6,9 omega fatty acids. Your body will thank you for it!
